How often should I wax my Wicked Twisted Bowstrings??

Waxing your WTB is an important and vital part of your string’s extended life. A very light, periodic waxing of your string and cables should become a habit, especially after getting them dirty, wet, or dusty. Pay special attention to the area around your peep sight, below the serving on the string, where it might contact your loose clothes or your arm, and on the cables slide bows where the cables go through the slide. We recommend using BCY X-Wax or Bohning Tex-Tite Wax on all our strings and cables, which can be found in our online shop, excluding Bloodline strings.

Will my bow’s speed increase with a set of Wicked Twisted Bowstrings??

Not knowing the exact specs that are currently on your bow, we can’t guarantee it, but in most cases, our strings tend to be slightly faster in an oranges-to-oranges comparison to other factory and aftermarket strings.

What is the life of a bowstring?

This depends on many factors primarily the number of shots and the condition of the equipment. If an Archer is shooting a high-poundage bow every day and using a caliper release, the string should be checked very frequently, using a string loop will increase string life. On a lower poundage bow, shooting fingers, the wear would be significantly less, therefore the life of the string much longer. It is the Archer’s responsibility to check the string and keep it waxed. Archers should also check for telltale signs of problems such as abrasion; fuzziness, high strands which indicate a strand breakage underneath the serving, or excessive peep rotation - which can be an indication that one strand may have broken. There are many reasons for string breakage. One of the most common is burrs in the cams on compound bows. It is the Archer’s responsibility to check the string carefully prior to shooting every time.
